Iguana Yachts Acquires RIB Builder Wettoncraft

Iguana Yachts has acquired the amphibious RIB builder Wettoncraft, with the aim of providing customers with a range of smaller and more affordable products.

Iguana, based in Mondeville in France, is the manufacturer of a range of amphibious boats, including the Sport, Knight and Commuter models, which demonstrate high performance on both land and sea, with a powerful and robust mobility system, where the tracks are fully integrated in the amphibious craft.

This ensures they are more sustainable than traditional boats, as they require no docks, ports and marinas to operate, and they are designed to conquer all terrains and to overcome tides and shallow waters.

Antoine Brugidou, Founder and CEO of Iguana Yachts, started the business in 2008, in response to a personal need for a boat with amphibious capabilities, and has seen the market grow considerably.

He said:

Wettoncraft boats are semi rigid amphibious boats. Equipped with retractable wheels, they can be launched in a few minutes from a slipway or directly from a beach. The Roadway model also includes a retractable trailer and tow bar.

Located in Tourcoing-France, the Wettoncraft workshop will be transferred to Mondeville near Caen at Iguana Yachts headquarters, while an R&D office will be set up in the Lille area.
