Premiumropes, the specialist in high-quality ropes and bespoke solutions in rope and rigging work, has announced that JanKees Lampe is taking over the company from founder Jan-Willem Polman.
Premiumropes is a rope manufacturer, wholesaler and webstore for yachting ropes, hardware and steelwire rigging. With locations in Amsterdam and Kiel, it supports sailors, boatbuilders and marine professionals across Europe and beyond.
In the Netherlands, the company is known as Lijnenspecialist, serving both private and commercial customers in the maritime and industrial sectors, both in the Netherlands and internationally. The company designs, produces and finishes high-performance running rigging, mooring lines and custom solutions in house and the team of riggers travel around the world to fit out mega racing yachts.
After 15 years, Jan-Willem is passing the helm to experienced and passionate sailor JanKees Lampe, who will continue to develop Premiumropes.
According to the company’s press release, for customers, nothing will change in the trusted service, quality, and personal attention for which Premiumropes is known. The existing team will continue to provide expert advice, bespoke solutions, and fast, reliable delivery on a daily basis.
Jan-Willem Polman said:

JanKees Lampe is an experienced entrepreneur with a deep passion for sailing. He learned to sail at a young age and in 2009, he won line honours in the OSTAR (Observer Single-handed Transatlantic Race) and set the 40-foot class record, which still stands today. In 2022, he won the TWOSTAR together with his son Floris. In 2023, he won the Azores and Back Race (AZAB) with his son Wouter.
Both sons already work at the company.
