Avantis Group, the sustainable marine and offshore services provider, has acquired Newcastle-based Bulldog Coating Services, calling it a "significant step" in its growth strategy to enhance its service offerings.
Bulldog Coating Services has been operating for over 35 years and specialises in all types of industrial coating, offering end-to-end solutions for maintaining assets integrity. Services include inspections, rope access, tank cleaning and linings, and passive fire protection, which are now part of Avantis Group’s enhanced portfolio.

The acquisition will see Avantis, which specialises in smart engineering for the conversion of critical assets and infrastructure, offering asset owners flexibility and freedom to perform major works anywhere in the world without access to dry dock facilities.
Working across all continents, the business has vast experience providing major upgrade projects to the marine, offshore oil, gas and power generation and renewables markets. It provides advanced technological solutions, particularly in retrofitting of new environmentally-friendly clean technology and re-engineering current assets to have a greener and more efficient yield.

Incorporating Bulldog Coating Services into the Avantis family will expand the company’s capability to offer more diversified services, further strengthening its commitment to quality and environmental stewardship.
Industry veteran Lee Bullock (pictured left) will remain as MD of Bulldog after the investment, supported by his current management team.
