Marije Hulshof, CEO of Royal HaskoningDHV, said:
“We are very excited to welcome our new colleagues from Arch Henderson who are so complimentary to our team. Like us, they have over 100 years of maritime expertise, along with established and long-lasting client relationships with port and government clients.
“Together, with our maritime and renewable energy capabilities, we are now excellently positioned to capture the growing offshore wind port market around the North Sea and internationally.”
By bringing Arch Henderson on board, Royal HaskoningDHV significantly strengthens its UK business to over 800-strong, with a market-leading position in maritime.
Arch Henderson, launched in 1919, offers specialist services in the design of harbour works, coastal protection schemes and ship repair facilities. This specialism in maritime civil engineering works continues but the firm has expanded to include architectural, civil, structural, and mechanical engineering and Principal Designer services for a wide range of industrial, energy and commercial sectors.
The business designs harbours, piers, deep-water quays, slipways, container berths, dry-docks, Ro-Ro berths, shipbuilding yards, offshore service bases, breakwaters and decommissioning facilities. It also carries out feasibility studies, dredging schemes, land reclamation, coastal protection projects, surveys and diving inspections on coastal structures; and advises on repairs and remedial works, for clients including Port and Harbour Authorities, Local Authorities and the Government.
Arch Henderson employs over 60 staff and operates throughout the UK and abroad, with offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Lerwick, Southampton and Thurso.
Alan Kilbride, Principal Partner at Arch Henderson, commented:
“We too are all very excited to be joining Royal HaskoningDHV. We will be able to offer a wider range of services to our existing clients, grow faster, and for our colleagues this is a great opportunity to join in the delivery of prestigious projects and work internationally.”
Following the acquisition, it is planned that Arch Henderson will retain its brand name in the short term.
