Robotics specialist Beam acquired by Rosenxt

Rosenxt UK Ltd, part of Switzerland-based Rosenxt Holding AG, has acquired selected assets and talent from Rovco Limited, doing business also as “Beam”, the subsea robotics and engineering firm.
This strategic move enhances Rosenxt’s subsea and robotics capabilities, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the critical infrastructure and energy sectors.
Beam, formed in 2024 through the merger of Rovco and Vaarst and formerly based in Bristol and Aberdeen, is a technology company, using AI and autonomy on robotic ships and underwater robots to service offshore wind farms. Beam is empowering the global energy transition by delivering cutting edge automation that provides immediate time and cost savings across all lifecycle stages of a wind farm.
Its latest project was announced as Scout, an AI-powered autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) system for subsea inspections, transforming daily offshore wind operations with groundbreaking autonomy.
The company ceased operations in May 2025.
Rosenxt’s acquisition does not constitute a continuation of all Beam’s former operations. Rather, it represents a carefully considered consolidation of high-value competencies – focused on integrating key technical assets, welcoming expert talent, and establishing a foundation for future development.
Rosenxt was founded in 2023 by Hermann Rosen and specialises in critical infrastructure integrity, performance optimidation, and required systems and components, including sensors, autonomous robotics, AI, and advanced materials. It uses cutting-edge technology and engineering to create advanced solutions for harsh environments such as subsea and offshore structures, industrial manufacturing, waterline infrastructures and the energy upstream market.
Hermann Rosen, Chairman of the Board of Rosenxt, said:
“Beam’s innovative legacy aligns with Rosenxt’s ambitious long-term vision.
“This acquisition strengthens our ability to lead in next-generation subsea technologies, looking at least 10 years ahead”.
Hermann Rosen – Chairman of the Board of Rosenxt
Rosenxt will integrate Beam’s capabilities into its broader subsea strategy, with a focus on growth in Aberdeen and Bristol. The acquisition underscores a shared commitment to engineering excellence and delivering sustainable, high-performance solutions in complex subsea environments.
In the coming months, Rosenxt will concentrate on carefully evaluating and aligning the acquired capabilities with its strategy. This includes designing a forward-looking roadmap that carefully balances evolving future market needs with operational integrity and long-term performance standards.
Dirk van Vinckenroye, General Manager at Rosenxt, commented:
“We acknowledge the uncertainty experienced by clients, partners, and former employees following Beam’s abrupt closure.
“With this acquisition, we are laying the groundwork for a new chapter – one that values stability as much as innovation.”
Dirk van Vinckenroye – General Manager at Rosenxt
This acquisition reflects Rosenxt’s targeted investment in select technologies and expert individuals who embody this forward-looking mindset. The integration strengthens Rosenxt’s ability to build on Beam’s innovative legacy – with a clear focus on future applications and a long-term strategy.
