“The new software and services fit well into our portfolio and further strengthen our focus on supporting the marine industry’s digitalization. The acquisition complements our capabilities to serve our existing and future customers.”
DTN specialises in weather forecasts, routing guidance and operational intelligence to improve shipping operations. Its weather intelligence is backed by a proprietary marine forecasting engine that provides the most up-to-date forecasts so shipping operators can adjust operations, track new routes, and streamline responses, ensuring ships take the most efficient and safest routes possible.
Marc Chesover, President and CEO of DTN, commented:
“We are incredibly proud of what the shipping team has accomplished at DTN and are confident that the industry will see immense value from the expanded ABB digital offerings that will become possible when combined with the DTN Shipping portfolio.”
