Alliance Marine Group, the French recreational boating and marine equipment distributor, has acquired Marathon Leisure as a further step in its international development scheme.
Alliance Marine, with its HQ in La Garde, already has a strong foothold in the UK with Ocean Safety and Typhoon a part of the group since 2018. In addition to boating accessories, the marine equipment distributor also incorporates the design and production of home-branded safety at sea and rescue systems for the leisure boating, watersports and commercial marine industries.
Jean-Paul Roche, the CEO of Alliance Marine, sees the acquisition as an opportunity to expand further in the UK markets.
He commented:

Marathon Leisure was created in 1992 by Tim Millinder and his wife Alison and today is a successful marine equipment distributor to the marine leisure market in the UK and Ireland, operating from Hayling Island.
Millinder is keen to see the expansion provided by the acquisition.
He said:
