Arcona Group acquires Swedish boatbuilder

Arcona Group, the owner of Swedish boatbuilder Arcona Yachts, has acquired the boatbuilding company SailYard AB, for an undisclosed sum.

Arcona was founded by Torgny Jansson, and has its HQ in Gustavsberg. It has worked with Swedish boatbuilder SailYard, based in Uddevalla, for several years – in 2014, Arcona Yachts entered into a collaboration with SailYard to furnish the Arcona 430 and 465 Carbon in Kungshamn, and it also built the Arcona 435 45-foot performance cruiser.

The two companies are mid-production of the new flagship twin-rudder Arcona 50, designed by Jeppesen & Pons. Niels Jeppesen was founder of X-Yachts and is now Arcona’s in-house designer.

Urban Lagnéus, CEO of Arcona Yachts, said:

In June 2022, the board of directors of boat brand Arcona Najad Yachts AB announced it was splitting the well-known Swedish brands into two separate companies: Arcona Yachts AB and Najad Yachts AB.
