Company: Bavaria Yachts, Greenline NEO
Business Type: Boat Builder
Bavaria Yachts, based in Giebelstadt, currently manufactures sailboats, inboard motorboats and catamarans, and, once the sale has been completed in March, will add outboard motor-propelled day cruisers to its series.
Michael Müller, chief executive of Bavaria Yachts, commented:
“In recent years the market segment for day cruisers with outboards has grown strongly, particularly in the USA and Europe, and will continue to grow in coming years.
“With our new day cruiser, we want to tap further customer groups and complete our portfolio of models. Due to the acquisition of the NEO concept and its further development, we will be able to present a new model as early as this year.”

Under the terms of the deal, Bavaria Yachts will enter the outboard motorboat market by taking over all the moulds and tools to build the Neo boats, and has plans to launch the first day cruiser with outboards as early as September.
The first model of the Bavaria day cruiser line with outboards will come off the production line in the Giebelstadt yard, designed to Bavaria’s style. The basis for the new model is the 10.99 metre long Greenline Neo from SVP Yachts in Slovenia.
A spokesman for the Bavaria Yachts development team commented:
“The deck and interior are to be optimised and adapted to Bavaria’s DNA. Outboards with twin 300hp are planned for the propulsion system.”
The new brand name for the day cruiser series will be announced in the spring.
Greenline Neo models were launched in Australia last year by local distributor eYachts. Models are powered by either twin 300hp outboard engines, or twin 80hp Torqueedo Deep Blue electric outboard motors. Greenline, based in Slovenia, has chosen to sell the concept to better focus on hybrid propulsion and sustainability. The NEO is the only model in the company’s range currently not available as a hybrid.
