Specialist M&A Advisory firm First Peninsula Marine, has appointed Paul Martin, previous BHG Marine owner, as Director, effective immediately.
Paul Martin brings a wealth of marine industry knowledge, leadership experience and connections, and his appointment takes place 15 months on from a sale of BHG Marine to Berthon Group.

Paul has a deep understanding of the sector and the challenges facing the industry, as well as of running a multi-generational family business including a successful exit. As we move into a 16th year of generating inward investment into the marine sector, Paul will be leading our leisure marine agency offering moving forward, supported by our experienced and talented transaction team.”

Martin’s previous experience includes Managing Director of BHG Marine in Lymington, BHG Service at Buckler’s Hard, and Chair of the British Marine Trades Association. Martin currently sits on the British Marine Board and is also a Harbour Commissioner at Lymington.

Reflecting on the sale, it became clear that Sean and I worked incredibly well as a team and I had gained a unique insight into the complexities of selling a marine business. Sean and I remained in close contact and I soon found myself looking for new challenges, so when the opportunity was presented I began working for First Peninsula three months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the role, so to be now officially appointed within the team and the board is incredibly exciting.”
