Greek charter agency acquired by Fraser Yachts

Yacht broker Fraser Yachts has acquired a controlling interest in Atalanta Golden Yachts, a Greek-based charter management agency.

Fraser Yachts, based in Florida, United States, deals in yacht charter and brokerage, as well as yacht management and new builds, and was acquired by MarineMax, the recreational boat and yacht retailer and superyacht services company, in 2019.

Brett McGill, CEO and President of MarineMax, sees this latest acquisition as an opportunity to strengthen the company’s position in the global superyacht services sector. He said:

Charter agency Atalanta Golden Yachts, based in Athens, Greece, was founded in 2006 and manages luxury charters in Greece, plus other destinations including France, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, the Red Sea, and the Caribbean.

Today the company manages a client portfolio of yachts worth over $5.8 billion for owners, as well as a fleet of over 90 charter yachts ranging from 24m to 90+m.

John Dragnis, principal shareholder of Atalanta Golden Yachts, maintains a significant stake and will remain involved in the growth and development of Fraser’s operations in Greece.

He commented:

Vassilis Fotilas, Managing Director of Fraser Greece, added:

Following an initial period of transition, the newly combined companies will operate under the brand Fraser Yachts Greece as part of the overall Fraser Yachts Group.
