RS Sailing Sweden under new ownership

RS Sailing Sweden, the manufacturer of dinghies, is under new ownership, after being acquired by Björn Wärnberg and Magnus Robertsson.

RS Sailing Sweden’s heritage began in flat-out racing classes and it now is a manufacturer of dinghies and boats for beginners, families, clubs and schools, including keel boats, catamarans and adapted para sailing vessels.

The company will remain on the west coast of Sweden but has relocated from Gothenburg to the coastal village of Ljungskile. This new location is in the heart of a renowned sailing area, enabling test sailing and fun events for customers.

New owner Wärnberg said:

Sticking to the RS ethos of “for sailors, by sailors”, the company will supply and distribute the wide range of RS boats which are optimal for sailing schools, recreational sailors and elite-level racing, including the RS Quest, the RS Feva and the RS Toura.

Robertsson commented:

Outgoing owner Christer Båth will continue his support as an ambassador for RS Sailing Sweden.

RS Sailing Sweden will also continue to work closely with RS Class Associations to support regattas. These include both championships in Sweden and worldwide events.

Michiel Geerling, Commercial Director of RS Sailing, concluded:
