Company: Marine Store Group, Nimbus Boats
Business Type: Boat Sales
A manufacturer of leisure powerboats, Nimbus was founded in 1968, and since then, several brands have been added to the portfolio of what today is the Nimbus Group, with boats sold in the Nordic countries, central Europe and in the US.
Today the group, which employs 288 staff members and has operations in Sweden, Finland, Poland and in the UK, comprises the brands Alukin, Aquador, Bella, Falcon, Flipper, Nimbus and Paragon Yachts.
Jan-Erik Lindström, CEO of Nimbus Group, says the acquisition of the companies Marine Store Norrtälje AB, Marine Store Nynäshamn AB and Marine Store Båtservice Norrtälje AB is part of Nimbus Group’s strategy to grow within the dealer segment.
He commented:
“The acquisition of Marine Store is a logical next step to us. Marine Store operates in important boating districts where we also want to strengthen our brands.
“Marine Store is a well-managed company with high quality and service which we will continue to invest in and develop further.”
The Marine Store Group is one of Sweden’s largest leisure powerboats dealers with operations in Bergshamra, Norrtälje and Nynäshamn in the larger Stockholm area, employing 23 people.
The business sells Anytec, Buster, Ockelbo, Yamarin, and Yamarin Cross motorboats, services Yamaha and Brunswick engines, and offers financing, insurance, winter storage, service and repairs.
Joakim Mellqvist, CEO and co-owner of Marine Store, sees the acquisition as a positive step in the future of the business.
He commented:
“We, the main owners in the Marine Store, have worked hard for a number of years to improve our offering and the business has developed very positively.
“For Marine Store, this deal is a logical next step. Nimbus Group is a strong company in the industry with well-known brands that will constitute a good haven for continued expansion.”
