Northrop & Johnson acquires superyacht management company

Luxury yacht brokerage Northrop & Johnson has acquired Med-based superyacht management company SYM.

Focussing on the operational and management side of owning a superyacht, SYM expands Northrop & Johnson’s growing portfolio of superyacht services and transforms the company into a full-service brokerage, covering every aspect of superyacht ownership.

Northrop & Johnson, which is owned by yacht retailer MarineMax, has offices across the world and has been offering yachting services since 1949. Together with SYM, it will offer superyacht owners services that include buying, selling, chartering, building, crewing, insurance, yacht management and charter marketing.

Northrop & Johnson’s President and COO Daniel Ziriakus sees the acquisition as a time to increase their offerings to their clients.

He commented:

The Golfe Juan-based SYM offers superyacht services ranging from registration and maintenance to refit and crew recruitment.

SYM’s Founder and Managing Director Ben Young said:
