Pirates Cave, the Rochester-based chandlery, has acquired the maritime suppliers Mailspeed Marine brand from the Friday Media Group. Included in the acquisition is the website, mailspeedmarine.com, which will be merged with Pirates Cave’s own website.
The move further cements Pirates Cave, established in 1991, as a chandlery that caters for all needs, and which claims to be the largest chandler in Kent.
A spokesperson from Pirates Cave commented:
“Pirates Cave is one of the best-stocked chandlers in the South East, with more product lines available than ever before.
“We look forward to welcoming and serving Mailspeed Marine’s loyal customers to Pirates Cave Chandlery.”
Maritime suppliers Mailspeed Marine was set up in 1981 to sell chandlery online and by mail order. The company provides marine supplies including sailing clothing, deck shoes, yacht chandlery, marine electronics, inflatable boats, outboard engines and other sailing equipment.
The acquisition was for an undisclosed sum.
