Marine specialist Vortec Group has acquired superyacht and SOLAS tenders manufacturer Rib-X International, in a bid to enable further growth.
Vortec Marine Ltd is a yacht service and repair centre and brokerage, established in 2006. Originally specialising in Oyster and Swan Yachts, the business now offers this yacht maintenance and management across sailing and motor yachts of all makes, with workshops in Endeavour Quay, Gosport and Swanwick Marina on the Hamble.
It also offers a selection of RYA and MCA courses, as well as private RYA training and own-boat tuition for RYA practical courses.
Rib-X International, established in 2003, offers a large range of superyacht SOLAS tenders, as well as luxury tenders, commercial boats and recreational ribs, from its new base in Gosport, complete with slip, hoist and plenty of space for boat production and manufacture through to sea trials, all on one site.
Ross Collingwood, CEO of Rib-X International, sees the acquisition as an opportunity for manufacturing growth.

Rib-X builds SOLAS rescue tenders, only one of a few global companies that are certified to manufacture SOLAS approved rescue craft.
Richard Burlingham, MD of Rib-X International, is looking forward to new boat launches.
He said:
“We are about to launch a 13m chase boat from our Gosport premises and have several other vessels in build, ready to launch in the spring.
“We have a healthy order book and the team is very much looking forward to showcasing the latest builds as soon as we can.”
