Tecmar founder hands company over to his son

Thierry Lambot, Founder of technical distributor Tecmar, has announced his retirement and his son Martin will now take over the running of the company.

TECMAR, which was launched in 2011 by Lambot, his wife and two friends, imports and distributes quality technical equipment in France to over 3,500 watersports and industry professionals.

The electrical side of the business was launched in 2012, followed by the plumbing department in 2018, using an expanded network of sales representatives throughout France.

Specialising in products for the recreational boating and marine markets, and trading in 30 brands, Tecmar is now positioned as the specialist in its sector.

Thierry Lambot said:

After studying international business with a specialisation in purchasing and innovation, Martin Lambot quickly moved towards the supply of high value-added products, notably at Total where he was in charge of sourcing electronic components for batteries.

After joining Tecmar as purchasing manager he gradually expanded his role and responsibilities over the course of six years, moving up to the corporate management side of the business.

With 20 employees based at the head office in Sainte-Soulle and Antibes, Martin Lambot’s plans are to develop the company further within a changing boating market, aiming to achieve half of the sales revenue through electricity and plumbing supplies within five years.

He commented:

Lambot will work alongside his brother Pierre-Philippe Dangaly, Head of Logistics and Stores. One of their first projects will be to install photovoltaic panels and supply the company’s premises with solar energy.
