Company: Chamberlain Yachts, Merle Wood & Associates
Business Type: Vessel Broker, Vessel Charter
The announcement also introduces the appointment of Kent Chamberlain as CEO of the US brokerage firm.
Chamberlain brings more than 40 years of experience in the yachting industry, primarily in management and ownership roles. In 1996 he became General Manager of Merle Wood & Associates, before starting Chamberlain Yachts in Fort Lauderdale in 2003.
He is also founder and Chairman of the Superyacht Network, a private group of elite superyacht brokers who meet monthly to share market information, that has been running for 25 years.
The Florida-based Merle Wood & Associates, founded in 1989, is a full-service provider of yacht brokerage, new yacht construction and yacht charter services.
Wood says this move provides additional sales management, allowing him more time to focus on superyacht clients, as well as the ability to expand the company’s reach into new markets for the production and custom yacht division.
He commented:
“I tapped Chamberlain for this role because of his collegial style and reputation for bringing yacht brokers together.”
