Oceanco Group has acquired Winel, further strengthening the Group’s capabilities and reinforces its shared commitment to shaping a new generation of yachts.
Winel specialises in custom-made and standardised solutions for the maritime industry and includes the companies Staalart and Yachtsupport.
Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Assen, the Netherlands, where its main production facility is located, Winel operates in the field of tank vent check valves, manually operated doors and hatches, watertight sliding doors, hull doors and exclusive yacht equipment for both yachts and commercial shipping and offshore sectors.
With another facility in Haiphong, near the South China Sea, the company has 150 employees and workshops of more than 20.000 m². Its patented Musketeer system is used in ships all over the world and is renowned for its operating system – a stainless steel central closing mechanism with a quick acting handle on both sides.
Following the acquisition, Winel will continue to operate with the same team and strategic direction, while continuing to serve existing and new clients.

Oceanco manufactures yachts alongside offering maintenance and refit planning. With the capacity to work on multiple yachts of up to 160m, the company also specialises in complex upgrades, rebuilds and conversions, utilising modern standards in terms of technology, sustainability and physical design from its outfitting facilities and HQ in Alblasserdam, The Netherlands.
Its fleet includes 105m ‘H3’, 125m ‘Koru’ and 111m ‘Leviathan’.
It’s ‘Life Cycle Support’ offers routine maintenance and refit planning to deployment of rapid response teams anytime to yacht crew.

The relationship between Winel and Oceanco began in the late 1990s with complex lifting equipment on the Oceanco yacht, Al Mirqab and most recently with the adjustable hinge on Leviathan’s hull doors that stay horizontal to the deck, in order to accommodate different sea conditions. As the press release states, the components developed and produced by Winel play an increasingly important role in all of the Oceanco yachts.
With Winel’s expertise and capacity, Oceanco further expands its innovative capabilities and strengthens collaboration across the Group, alongside Alewijnse, Aluship, Lateral and Mercury.
