The Yacht Leg and Cradle Company, which manufactures yacht cradles and motorboat stands, has been acquired by Metal Spraying (UK).
The Yacht Leg and Cradle Company, based in Henley-on-Thames, has been operating for 30 years, and is looking to expand into the overseas market, leading to further opportunities and job creation. It also has new products in development.
The company’s yacht cradle range includes specific designs for private boat owners and professional users, including stackable and transportable cradles, which are used extensively by marinas and boatyards from Europe to the Caribbean. There are four different designs of motorboat stands – lightweight, standard, heavy duty and keel base – which are also stackable.
Wolverhampton-based SCP, which incorporates Metal Spraying, specialises in scaffolding and construction products, predominantly supplying the construction industry with structural equipment.

“We have been involved with Paul for a long time, supplying the mechanical components for the yacht cradles. We began manufacturing the full range of products for him three years ago and are now proud to now take over the reins.”

The Yacht Leg and Cradle Co will continue to operate as its own entity to both the trade and private customers, with the added benefit of SCP’s engineering, stockholding, warehousing, and distribution facilities. Williams will remain with the company in an advisory role.
